2025-2026 Forsyth Central Stage Season! Featuring...
-
Lauren Gunderson’s THE BOOK OF WILL - October 3-4, 2025: Our season opens with a beautiful contemporary play about the responsibilities of maintaining the legacy of those who have left us. Of friendship, love, and art. Of immortality. After the death of a lion of the stage, The Book of Will follows two members of The King’s Men as they set out to create what will come to be known as one of the greatest literary works of all time: the First Folio. This show will be produced as a full-length play before being cut to serve as Central Stage’s entry for the GHSA One-Act Play Competition to be held on October 29th at the Forsyth County Arts and Learning Center.

-William Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT - December 12-13, 2025: Our winter production is a playful examination of love, identity, and community. At its core, this comedy is one of mistaken identities and elaborate disguises, but beneath its festive surface lie deeper currents: the instability of desire, the fluidity of hierarchy and identity, and the fine line between folly and wisdom. The play’s enduring appeal lies not only in its humor, but in its invitation to reflect on how we present ourselves to the world and how those performances are received — especially when love is at stake.
-Marcy Heisler & Zine Goldrich's JUNIE B. JONES: THE MUSICAL (JR.) - January 23-24, 2026: Based on the beloved children's books by Barbara Park, this season entry is one filled with a whole lot of spunk, scribbled notebooks, and a first grader who has a lot to say about everything. This show dives headfirst into the messy, magical world of elementary school—where lunchboxes are political, best friends can change overnight, and the biggest dramas unfold between the bus stop and circle time. And at the center of it all is a character with a voice as loud as her opinions, a flair for the dramatic, and a heart that's trying its very best to figure out how the world works. More than just a children’s show, this musical bursts with energy, humor, and songs you won’t stop humming. It reminds us that childhood isn’t simple—it’s full of high stakes, real emotions, and daily dilemmas that feel like life and death (because to a six-year-old, they are).

-POSSIBLE PLAYERS SHOW-written and directed by Adi Wormsley - March 11, 2026:
-Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE - April 16-19, 2026: Our final production for the season is perhaps the greatest piece of musical theatre ever developed. A poignant dissection of the artist at work, this show tackles the greatest question of all about the subject of a legacy: what do we truly, ultimately leave behind? With a haunting score and heart-wrenching book, this masterwork by Sondheim and Lapine is so much more than a musical: it is a reflection on time. On inheritance. On the all-too-human need to be remembered.
